Alumni Update – Connellsville’s Jimmy Malone

Jimmy Malone fired a seven-hit shutout in Saint Vincent College’s 3-0 game one victory over visiting Chatham University Sunday afternoon. The junior lefty struck out three in the win. Malone is 3-0 this season with a 2.96 earned-run average. The Connellsville graduate was named Presidents’ Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for his performance. Class 6A Boys Basketball First Round Preview

The top boys basketball classification begin the WPIAL playoffs tonight. The 12-team bracket will feature byes for the top four teams. The top four seeds are Pine-Richland, Latrobe, Mt. Lebanon and Upper St. Clair, respectively. All games will start at 8 p.m. at a neutral site.
