NA’s Rick Mihm, West A’s Britney Wilson Named Big 56 Scholar-Athlete Scholarship Winners

Congratulations to North Allegheny boys swimmer, Rick Mihm, and West Allegheny’s softball player, Britney Wilson, on being this year’s recipients of the Big 56 Conference Scholar-Athlete Award winners.

Mihm and Wilson were selected by a committed who viewed over 30 applicants that sent in forms for the scholar-athlete scholarship. Both will receive $500 towards college.

During his time at North Allegheny, Mihm was a four-year All-American, 14-time WPIAL gold medalists, including six individual medals, and nine-time PIAA gold medalist, including four individual medals.

Mihm has led the Tigers to four WPIAL team championships and three PIAA team championships. He also was a part of a relay team in 2018 that broke a national record in the 400 free relay.

Mihm will be continuing his academic and swimming career at Division I powerhouse, Stanford University.

Wilson was a four-year varsity letter winner for the West Allegheny softball team. She helped lead the Indians to three Class 5A WPIAL as a first-team all-state and all-section catcher.

She has also been named the Post-Gazette and Tribune-Review Class 5A Player of the Year, Beaver County Times all-star and Post-Gazette all-area team.

Wilson is a member of the National Honor Society, was class president for three years and a student ambassador.

In the fall, Wilson will be continuing her academic and softball career at California University of Pennsylvania.
