6A GIRLS QUARTERFINALS

#6 Chartiers Valley (12-9) at #3 Mt. Lebanon (16-6) – 6 pm – TribLive HSSN

Chartiers Valley finished the regular season as the third-place finisher in Section 2-6A. They average 51.5 points per game (5th in 6A) and allow 49.9 points per game (6th in 6A). Chartiers Valley has won 2 games in a row following up a 3-game losing streak. They are led by Emma Reynolds who averages 15.0 points per game. Reynolds finished the regular season 7th in 6A in scoring. Lilah Turnball is coming off a 13-point performance in Chartiers Valley’s regular season finale. Ava Shazer had 11 points in that game.

Pine-Richland ended the regular season tied for third place in Section 1-6A. They average 47.8 points per game (9th in 6A) and allow 48.0 points per game (5th in 6A). Pine-Richland was 3-2 in their final five games including winning the last two. They are led by Madison Zavasky who averages 19.4 points per game. Zavasky finished the regular season 4th in 6A in scoring. Katie Pifer is coming off of an 11-point performance in Pine-Richland’s regular season finale. Zavasky had 16 points in that game.

North Allegheny finished the regular season the co-champions of Section 1-6A with Norwin. They average 55.3 points per game (3rd in 6A) and allow 44.5 points per game (4th in 6A). North Allegheny finished the regular season winners of 9 of their last 10 games. They are led by Jasmine Timmerson who averages 16.6 points per game. Timmerson finished the regular season 5th in 6A in scoring. Caroline Henderson is coming off a 12-point outing in North Allegheny’s regular season finale. Timmerson had 22 points in that game.

#8 Peters Township (13-10) at #1 Upper St. Clair (19-2) – 7 pm – WJPA

Peters Township is coming off a 62-49 first round victory over Butler. They used a 22-12 second quarter to get a double digit lead at halftime and never looked back. Sami Bewick and Natalie Wetzel each had 17 points for Peters Township in the game. Peters Township averages 58.8 points per game (2nd in 6A) and allows 51.5 points per game (7th in 6A). They are led by Gemma Walker and Wetzel. Walker finished the regular season the 6A scoring champion while Walker finished 3rd in 6A in scoring.
