WPIAL Softball Playoff Clinchings/Scenarios

In Class 6A, the top six teams make the playoffs since there is only one section. If two teams are tied for sixth place and they split the regular season series, both teams qualify for the playoffs. In Class 5A, the top four teams in each section make the playoffs. If teams are tied for fourth place and split the regular season series, they will both qualify for the playoffs

Seneca Valley – clinched

Hempfield – clinched

North Allegheny – clinched

Pine-Richland – clinched

Norwin – clinches playoff berth with one win in their final two games between Mt. Lebanon (Friday) OR Hempfield (Monday)

Canon-McMillan – clinches playoff berth with win over Baldwin on Thursday OR wins over Seneca Valley (Friday) AND Pine-Richland (Monday)

Baldwin – clinches playoff berth by winning final 3 games over Canon-McMillan (Thursday) AND Butler (Tuesday and Wednesday) AND get some help

Fox Chapel – Clinched

Armstrong – Section Champion

Penn-Trafford – Clinched
