With the WPIAL Football brackets coming out at 3 p.m. today on the TribLive High School Sports Network, here are our thoughts of how the brackets will turn out:

Class 6A

#4 Mt. Lebanon (5-5) at #1 Central Catholic (9-1)

#3 Canon-McMillan (6-4) at #2 North Allegheny (9-1)

Nothing to talk about here. With the one section the bracket is already decided. Both semifinal games will be at the better seeded teams home field with kickoff at 7 p.m.

Class 5A

#8 Franklin Regional (6-4) at #1 Peters Township (10-0)

#7 Bethel Park (4-6) at #2 Penn Hills (8-2)

#6 Penn-Trafford (5-5) at #3 Pine-Richland (7-3)

#5 Moon (5-5) at #4 Gateway (5-5)

Peters Township is a no brainer at #1. Penn Hills defeated Pine-Richland and won the Northeast Conference putting them at #2 and Pine-Richland at #3. Gateway should be rewarded a home game for winning their conference so they are #4. Moon and Penn-Trafford are similar teams to me but Moon gets #5 to avoid a conference matchup between Gateway and Penn-Trafford so the Warriors are #6. Franklin Regional would probably be #7 in a power ranking but with Bethel Park and Peters Township in the same conference, Franklin Regional goes to #8 and Bethel Park is #7.
