In Class 6A, the top four teams in each section qualify for the playoffs. Since 6A teams play each other three times, if there is a tie for fourth place, the winner of the regular season series qualifies for the postseason. In Class 5A, the top four teams in each section also qualify but if there is a tie for fourth place and the teams split the regular season series, both teams get in.
