Central Catholic

Central Catholic is looking for their second WPIAL Championship in school history with the first coming in 2008. They beat Baldwin (80-75, OT) and Upper St. Clair (65-41) to get to the WPIAL Championship game. They are in the championship game after falling in the WPIAL semifinals a year ago. Central Catholic is led by Dante DePante (16 ppg).

New Castle

New Castle is in search of their 15th WPIAL Championship with the last coming in 2021. New Castle fell to Laurel Highlands in the 5A Championship game a year ago. Head Coach Ralph Blundo has led New Castle to seven titles in his 13 years. They defeated Norwin (59-47) and Mt. Lebanon (55-50) to get back to the WPIAL Championship game. New Castle is led by Isaiah Boice (17 ppg) and Jonathan Anderson (17 ppg).

Season Series
These teams saw each other twice in the regular season. Central Catholic took the first game on January 10, 56-45. New Castle got revenge on February 3, taking that game 67-53. New Castle’s Isaiah Boice did not play in the January 10 matchup.
