RIVALS COLLIDE FOR FIRST
Last season, these two Westmoreland County rivals were combined 10-16 in section play and 15-21 overall in WPIAL girls soccer.
Now Penn-Trafford and Norwin are a combined 5-1 in Section 1-4A and 8-6 overall as they prepare to battle for first place.
Since losing to Peters Township and Upper St. Clair in their first two matches of the season, the Warriors have won five straight, including all three section matches.
The Knights also lost their first two contests of 2024 to Pine-Richland and Mt. Lebanon, but have since won three of five games and have outscored opponents 19-0 in their three wins.
Penn-Trafford is alone in first place with a one-game lead over host Norwin and Latrobe.
