
What’s coming up: 5A/6A Boys Basketball Consolations

PLAYING FOR SEEDING
The day before the district gold rush begins at the Petersen Events Center, the consolation bracket continues in the boys basketball postseason.
In boys 6A, for the second straight year, Central Catholic (14-10) battle Mt. Lebanon (17-8) in the 6A third-place game at Fox Chapel at 7:30 p.m. Both teams have qualified and are playing for the No. 3 and 4 seeds in the state playoffs. Last year, only three teams qualified and the Blue Devils ended the Vikings’ season with a consolation victory.
In boys 5A, Uniontown (21-4) hosts Latrobe (20-5) at 7 p.m. with audio on Trib HSSN with the winner getting the No. 5 seed and the loser getting the No. 6 seed. Penn-Trafford (14-11) visits Moon (18-7) at 7 p.m. with the winner earning the No. 7 seed and the loser is No. 8 out of District 7.
