On its way to the Class 5A WPIAL Championship last year, Moon was the last team standing in West Allegheny’s way. The Indians 10-runned the Tigers in the Championship Game and faced them on Thursday for the first time since hoisting the trophy.

The result was similar as West Allegheny traveled to Moon and came away with a 10-1 win. SeniorĀ Ashley Seamon came away with the win on the mound.

The win improves the Indians to 7-1 and 2-0 in Section 3-5A. The Indians went 5-1 at the Ripken Experience down South before playing two games up North to this point. They will be back in action today when they host Chartiers Valley in a section game at 3:45 p.m.

Moon drops to 3-2 overall and 3-1 in the section. The loss snapped the Tigers’ 3-game win streak. They will look to start a new winning streak today when they travel to Montour for a section game at 3:30 p.m.
