West Allegheny Softball Continues To Roll in PIAA Playoffs
The Two-time defending Class 5A WPIAL Champions West Allegheny continue to steamroll through its opponents in the state playoffs. Albert Gallatin became its latest victim, a 10-3 decision, at Peterswood Park.
Seniors Taylor Goldstrohm and Taylor Cummings led the offense surge at the top of the lineup for the Indians. Goldstrohm collected three hits and three RBIs. Cummings had two hits including a home run.
West Allegheny jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the sixth inning before Albert Gallatin put three runs across.
The Colonials outhit the Indians 12-8 but senior pitcher Ashley Seamon was able to limit the damage throughout the game.
The Indians improve to 22-1 and will play Thomas Jefferson in the PIAA Semifinals. West Allegheny defeated Thomas Jefferson in the WPIAL championship this year.
