6A SECTION 1

Hempfield 2, Canon-McMillan 0

Riley Miller tossed a complete game shutout in the circle, striking out 12 and had two RBIs as Hempfield (5-1, 2-1) won a pitcher’s duel 2-0 on Monday afternoon. 

Butler 9, Mt. Lebanon 1

Kelsy Ogin struck out 10 in a complete game victory as Butler (1-3, 1-2) picked up their first win of the season with a 9-1 victory over Mt. Lebanon (0-3, 0-2). Gracie Negley had two hits including a home run. Deirdre Flaherty had the RBI for Mt. Lebanon.

North Allegheny 12, Baldwin 1

Caitlin Logan hit a home run and had three RBIs and North Allegheny (6-1, 2-0) coasted past Baldwin (0-6, 0-3) in section play on Monday. Sammy Plotsko was 3-for-5 with a home run while Sadie Kelly had three RBIs for North Allegheny.

Seneca Valley 10, Pine-Richland 0

Lexie Hames homered and struck out 15 in the circle as Seneca Valley (2-0, 2-0) shut out Pine-Richland (2-4, 2-1) 10-0 on Monday afternoon. Kara Pasquale had two hits for Seneca Valley.

5A SECTION 1

Shaler 13, Fox Chapel 0

Shaler (6-0, 1-0) continued their dominant start as Bria Bosijevac homered, had three RBIs and was the winning pitcher for Shaler in a 13-0 win over Fox Chapel (2-3, 0-1) on Monday. Bethany Rodman had two RBIs for Shaler.

North Hills 5, Plum 2

Hanna Murphy had three RBIs as North Hills (6-0, 1-0) beat Plum (2-2, 0-1) in a tightly contested game in section play on Monday. Mackenzie Lang homered for Plum.

Penn Hills 16, Oakland Catholic 1 – 3 innings

Penn Hills (4-0, 1-0) jumped all over Oakland Catholic (0-1, 0-1) scoring 14 runs in the first inning and rolling to a 16-1 win on Monday afternoon. Isabella DeCarlo went 3-for-3 for Penn Hills.

5A SECTION 2

Armstrong 13, Penn-Trafford 3

Cameryn Sprankle had two home runs and four RBIs while Armstrong (4-1, 1-0) hit seven home runs on the day and took down Penn-Trafford (1-5, 0-1) 13-3 in section play. Mack Keenan homered for Penn-Trafford.

Latrobe 18, Gateway 0 – 3 innings

Josie Straigis had two home runs and drove in six as Latrobe (6-0, 1-0) made quick work of Gateway (1-3, 0-1) with an 18-0, three-inning victory on Monday afternoon. Lauren Weatherton had four RBIs for Latrobe while Kayla Williams had three. Latrobe scored 15 runs in the second inning.

Franklin Regional 6, Kiski Area 0

5A SECTION 3

Western Beaver 8, Mars 7 – 9 innings

Western Beaver (3-1, 1-0) continued their great start winning their section opener over Mars (2-2, 0-1) 8-7 in nine innings off a walk-off two-run single from Emma Bogacki. Shaylyn Shall had three hits for Western Beaver while Izzie Lefebvre homered. Taylor Schmitt homered twice for Mars while Annalyn Isaacs also hit a home run.

South Fayette 8, New Castle 4

Liv Bonacci was 3-for-4 with three RBIs as South Fayette (4-3, 1-0) won their section opener against New Castle (1-3, 0-2) 8-4. Olivia Hood had two RBIs for New Castle.

5A SECTION 4

Upper St. Clair 2, Bethel Park 0

Brooklyn Kemp threw a shutout in the circle as Upper St. Clair (3-0, 1-0) outdueled Bethel Park (1-3, 0-1) in section play.

Trinity 19, Connellsville 4

Hanna Suhoski went 3-for-5 and drove in five runs to lead Trinity (5-1, 1-0) over Connellsville (0-3, 0-1) in section play on Monday. Aubree McClean had two hits for Connellsville.

Thomas Jefferson 9, Peters Township 8


Taylor Karpac hit a walk-off single to lead Thomas Jefferson (5-1, 1-0) over Peters Township (1-4, 0-1) in section play on Monday afternoon. Zoe Krizan was 3-for-3 with two home runs and drove in four. Adlaina Bracco and Liv Stock each had three hits for Thomas Jefferson. Makenzie Morgan had two home runs and five RBIs for Peters Township (1-4, 0-1).
