6A SECTION 1
Hempfield 13, Baldwin 0
Ella Berkebile and Julia Varhola each had two RBIs and Claire Mitchell had two doubles as Hempfield (13-2, 10-2) shut out Baldwin (0-16, 0-13) in section play on Thursday afternoon.
Seneca Valley 8, Mt. Lebanon 2
Lexie Hames struck out 19 hitters giving her 38 strikeouts in her last two starts as Seneca Valley (12-1, 11-1) took down Mt. Lebanon (5-9, 4-8) in section play on Thursday. Mia Ryan had three RBIs while Anna Kalkowski and Emilia Pfab each drove in two runs. Deirdre Flaherty homered for Mt. Lebanon.
5A SECTION 1
Plum 9, Fox Chapel 2
Taylor Lorish had a home run and five RBIs as Plum (8-6, 5-4) upended Fox Chapel (6-9, 4-6) in Section 1-5A action. Riley Stephans homered and drove in two runs for Plum.
North Hills 16, Oakland Catholic 1
North Hills 15, Oakland Catholic 0
5A SECTION 2
Franklin Regional 16, Gateway 0
Carli Ramchandran, Madison Nguyen and Alexa Patberg all hit home runs as Franklin Regional (9-5, 7-2) rolled to a 16-0 win over Gateway (1-13, 0-10) in Section 2-5A action. Sophia Reitz and Syndey Jackson each collected two hits for Franklin Regional.
5A SECTION 4
Trinity 7, Bethel Park 0
Madison Argo was 3-for-4 and drove in three runs as Trinity (13-1, 9-0) stayed unbeaten in section play with a 7-0 win over Bethel Park (6-10, 4-6) on Thursday.
BASEBALL
6A SECTION 1
Seneca Valley 7, Butler 0
Creed Edros drove in three runs, Nick Parrotto was 3-for-4 and Aeden Fowler pitched a shutout as Seneca Valley (13-4, 6-4) took down Butler (9-6, 6-4) in the opening game of the section series.
6A SECTION 2
Mt. Lebanon 4, Baldwin 1
Mt. Lebanon (8-9, 8-5) picked up their eighth win in nine games as they defeated Baldwin (4-14, 2-11) in Section 2-6A action. Matthew Delvaux picked up the win on the mound for Mt. Lebanon.
Canon-McMillan 3, Central Catholic 2
Andrew Kocan homered and drove in two runs and Sam Meredith had the winning RBI as Canon-McMillan (12-4, 10-3) continued to stay in first place with a 3-2 win over Central Catholic (6-9, 5-8) in Section 2-6A play. David Farrell was 3-for-3 for Central Catholic.

Jeremy Haigh was 2-for-3 as Fox Chapel (11-5, 7-2) picked up an important Section 1-5A win over Armstrong (10-6, 6-5).

Chuck Fontana had three RBIs and Dylan Grabowski struck out nine on the mound as Penn-Trafford defeated Gateway in the first game of a doubleheader, 10-2.
Penn-Trafford 9, Gateway 1
Carmen Metcalfe had two RBIs as Penn-Trafford (12-4, 8-3) completed the sweep of Gateway (4-12, 1-9) with a 9-1 win in the night cap of the doubleheader in Section 1-5A action on Thursday.
