Shaler Girls Basketball Rolls To Third Straight Section Win
After losing its section-opener at North Allegheny, Shaler has been able to right the ship, winning its last three section games to take sole possession of second place in Section 1-6A.
The Titans latest win broke a second place tie with Seneca Valley on Thursday night, as they went into Raider territory and came away with a 60-52 win.
Shaler was ready to jump on Seneca Valley from the start, claiming a 11-5 lead after the first quarter. The Titans did not trail for the remaining three quarters.
Leading the way for the Titans was senior Megan Lydon with 22 points. Junior McKenna Gross led the Raiders with a game-high 23 points.
With the win, Shaler improves to 7-5 and 3-1 and will look for their fourth straight win on Monday when they host Pine-Richland at 7:30 p.m. Seneca Valley drops to 6-5 and 2-2 and will look to snap its two-game section losing streak on Monday when they travel to Butler at 7:30 p.m.
