Seneca Valley Drops Thriller to Pine-Richland
By Luke Henne
Last night at Seneca Valley’s NexTier Stadium, the Pine-Richland Rams girls soccer team defeated the Raiders, 2-1, in a thriller.
Junior Alexa Burnham tallied the first goal for Pine-Richland before Seneca Valley senior Jess Frank responded with a header to tie the game.
Burnham struck again for her second goal of the night later in the second half. Seneca Valley senior Mary Sinan struck the goal post with just under three minutes left, and Pine-Richland held on for a gritty win.
Pine-Richland, still undefeated in WPIAL section play, defeated Seneca Valley in both meetings this season.
The Raiders play next on Wednesday, October 11 as they travel to Butler Area High School to take on the Golden Tornado.
