Ruffner, Defense Lead Mars To Win At North Hills
Junior Teddy Ruffner scored two second half touchdowns and the defense limited North Hills to a one first quarter touchdown in Mars’ 14-7 road victory on Friday Night.
The win brought the Fightin’ Planets into a second place tie in the section with the Indians. It was also their third straight section win in as many weeks.
Mars (5-2, 3-1) had an easier time with North Hills (4-3, 3-1) a year ago with a 42-14 win.
North Hills jumped out to a 7-0 lead after a Dylan Pawling 1-yard run, which stood as the only score for the first half.
Ruffner had two short touchdown runs in the second half of one and two yards, respectively. The second proved to be the game-winner in the fourth quarter. Senior Blake Edwards converted on both of his extra points.
Mars will seek its fourth straight win on Friday Night when they host Fox Chapel (2-5, 1-4) at 7 p.m.
