
Robby Carmody rescues Mars Against West Allegheny
Mars senior Robby Carmody recorded 23 points in the fourth quarter, including 10 in the final minute to send the game into overtime, where the Planets came away with a 78-70 win at West Allegheny.
Mars outscored West Allegheny 11-3 in overtime to stay undefeated and in first place in Section 2-5A, and gave them a sweep of the Indians. They also beat them 100-57 back on Jan. 3.
Carmody, a Notre Dame commit, finished with a game-high 43 points. Senior Isaiah Crowe led West Allegheny with 25 points and sophomore Jackson Faulk finished with 18.
The win improves Mars to 13-3 and 8-0 in the section. The Planets are back in action tonight at 6:15 p.m. in the Pittsburgh Classic at Montour against Sewickley Academy.
The loss drops West Allegheny to 8-8 and 6-3 and third place in the section. The Indians will return on Friday at Montour at 7:30 p.m.
