WPIAL 5A FIRST ROUND
#12 McKeesport (10-10) at #5 Moon (12-10) – 7 pm – Mon Valley Independent Live & McKeesport Tigers Sports Network
McKeesport finished the season second-place finishers in Section 3-5A. They average 61.1 points per game (7th in 5A) and allow 64.3 points per game (16th in 5A). They finished the regular season 6-2 in their last 8 games. McKeesport is led by Traverese Rowe, he is averaging around 20 points a game. As of February 8, Rowe was 6th in 5A in scoring. Shayne McGraw was big for McKeesport in their regular season finale as he had 21 points in a win over Fox Chapel. Rowe had 25 points in that game.
Moon finished tied for second place in Section 4-5A. They average 54.9 points per game as a team (T-14th in 5A) and allow 53.7 points per game (7th in 5A). Moon finished the regular season with a 72-49 loss to Mt. Lebanon on Monday, snapping a 3-game winning streak. Moon is led by Elijah Guillory, he is averaging around 17 points a game. As of February 8, Guillory was 11th in 5A in scoring. Michael Santicola had 10 points in the loss to Mt. Lebanon to finish the regular season. Guillory also had 10 in that game.

WPIAL 5A PRELIMINARY ROUND
#17 Montour (8-14) at #16 Plum (12-10) – 7 pm – TribLive High School Sports Network
Montour ended the season in fourth place in Section 4-5A. They average 46.3 points per game (14th in 5A) and allow 52.3 points per games (17th in 5A). Montour finished the regular season on a 2-game win streak after losing 3 games in a row. Montour is led by Jordyn Wolfe, she is averaging about 16 points per game. As of February 8, Wolfe was 9th in 5A in scoring. Reagan Kadlecik had 13 points in Montour’s momentum swinging win against Mars to finish the regular season. Wolfe had 17 points in that game.
Plum finished the regular season tied for third place in Section 1-5A. They average 44.2 points per game (15th in 5A) and allow 44.5 points per game (10th in 5A). Plum dropped 4 of their last 5 games of the regular season but defeated section champion Indiana in a win and in situation. Plum is led by Megan Marston, she is averaging around 18 points per game. As of February 8, Marston was 2nd in 5A in scoring. Plum fell to 6A playoff team Chartiers Valley 50-38 on Monday to finish out the regular season.
