Senior Joe Pipilo scored 29 points to lead Chartiers Valley to a home Section 2-5A win against South Fayette on Tuesday in an early season battle. 

Trailing by three points at halftime, the Colts outscored the Lions 18-12 in the third quarter to take the lead for good. 

Also scoring in double figures was junior Sean Banas with 12 points. 

For South Fayette, Kade St. Ledger and Joe Alcorn were in double figures with 18 and 14 points, respectively. 

With the win, Chartiers Valley improves to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the section. The Colts will host Thomas Jefferson in another section game on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

The loss was the first of the season for South Fayette, dropping them to 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the section. The Lions will host Moon in a section game on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
