Pine-Richland Eclipses The Century Mark In Non-Section Win
For anyone who likes offense, Pine-Richland was the place to be on Friday night.
Three days after only scoring 48 points in a loss to Upper St. Clair, the Pine-Richland boys basketball team erupted against another South Hills opponent, defeating Mt. Lebanon, 101-82, in a non-section game.
Entering the fourth quarter, the Rams already had 71 points and the game in hand, but were able to score another 30 points in eight minutes to reach triple digits.
Leading the way for the Rams were seniors Dan Petcash and Greg Shulkosky, both scoring 26 points. Petcash also had five rebounds and five assists while Shulkosky dished out seven assists.
Junior Kyle Polce finished with 16 points, 11 rebound double-double. Polce also had three assists. Junior Logan Murray also finished in double figures with 14 points. Murray also recorded six assist and two rebounds.
For Mt. Lebanon, junior Jake Hoffman finished with a game-high 30 points. Junior Blaine Gartley and senior Sean Loughran had 16 and 13 points, respectively.
With the win, Pine-Richland improves to 2-2 and snaps its two-game losing streak. The Rams will be back in action on Tuesday when they host Westinghouse in a non-section game at 7:30 p.m.
Mt. Lebanon drops its first game of the season, falling to 3-1. The Blue Devils will look to rebound in a tough non-section game on Tuesday when they host Butler at 7:30 p.m.
