Pine-Richland Clinches Playoff Spot With Win At Shaler
In a win-and-your-in scenario for Wednesday’s Pine-Richland at Shaler baseball game, the Rams went on the road and came away with a convincing 11-0 win in 5 innings to claim a playoff berth in Section 1-6A.
The result was completely different from Shaler’s 1-0 win in 10 innings on April 18.
JuniorĀ Troy LaNeve provided the power for the Rams, going 2-for-4 with two home runs. SeniorĀ Craig Kunkel also added three hits for Pine-Richland.
The win improves Pine-Richland to 10-5 overall and 5-5 in the section. They are alone in third place in the section. They will travel to Knoch in a non-section game on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
Shaler drops to 6-9 overall and 4-6 in the section. The Titans are in wait-and-see mode if they make the playoffs. They get in if Butler defeats Seneca Valley today. Their next game is at Vincentian on Friday at 4 p.m.
