Pine-Richland Boys Basketball last Class 6A WPIAL Team Remaining

The Pine-Richland boys’ basketball team kept their quest to return to the PIAA Championship Game for the second straight year alive on Wednesday with a 83-63 win against State College at University of Pitt-Johnstown.

The Rams got by with relative ease from the second quarter on. The entered the second quarter with a 14-11 lead and were able to extend it to 35-26 at halftime.

It was difficult for State College to zero in on any offense threat with Pine-Richland have five players score in double figures. Senior Phil Jurkovec led the Rams with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Junior Greg Shulkosky has 20 points, junior Dan Petcash had 14 points, junior Kenny White had 11 points and senior Andrew Kristofic had 10 points.

Pine-Richland improves to 22-6 and will play Allderdice in the Class 6A PIAA on Saturday at Canon-McMillan at 2:30 p.m.
