PIAA 5A SEMIFINALS
(7-1) Shaler 9, (12-1) Monsignor Bonner 3
Hershey High School’s baseball field could not contain Shaler (22-4) as they hit four home runs, including three in the second inning as the Titans got to the state championship game with a 9-3 win over Monsignor Bonner (12-4).
Derek Leas, Connor Hamrick and Brady Alexander all homered for Shaler in the second inning to give Shaler a 4-0 lead. Max Saban hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning to put the nail in the coffin. Miguel Hugas went five innings allowing three runs getting the win on the mound. Austin Cannon was 3-for-4 with a home run for Monsignor Bonner.
Shaler advances to the state championship game where they will take on District 1 champion Strath Haven (22-4) at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park at Penn State University on Thursday at 4:30 pm.
