PIAA 5A FIRST ROUND

Mechanicsburg 47, Woodland Hills 44 (OT)

Woodland Hills (13-14) magical postseason run came to an end on Saturday afternoon as they fell on the road in overtime to Mechanicsburg (20-7) 47-44. Woodland Hills was up by eight at halftime, trailed by four heading into the fourth quarter, before falling in overtime.

Hope Hawkins had 16 points for Woodland Hills. Lauren Lebo had 14 points for Mechanicsburg while Gracen Nutt had 12 points and Alaina Sweet added 10.

Penn-Trafford 40, Greencastle-Antrim 39

Penn-Trafford (18-9) pulled off a big time upset on Saturday afternoon as they went on the road and defeated the District 3 Champions Greencastle-Antrim (23-3) 49-30 to get to the PIAA Second Round.

Lilly Palladino led Penn-Trafford with 12 points while Lauren Marton added 11 points. Haley Nobit had 15 points for Greencastle-Antrim.

Penn-Trafford advances to the PIAA Second Round where they will meet McKeesport on Wednesday, at a site and time to be determined.

McKeesport 54, Northern 40

McKeesport (22-5) trailed by six points at halftime but outscored Northern (21-5) 35-15 in the second half, to come away with the 54-40 win at McKeesport High School on Saturday afternoon.

Rachael Manfredo had 19 points for McKeesport. Siena Ondecko led Northern with 13 points while Cassidy Sadler had 12 points.

McKeesport advances to the PIAA Second Round where they will take on Penn-Trafford on Wednesday, at a site and time to be determined.

Cathedral Prep 48, Trinity 30

Cathedral Prep (22-1) led 28-8 at the half and would never allow Trinity (18-8) back into the game as the District 10 champs rolled to a 48-30 win Saturday afternoon at the Hagerty Family Events Center in Erie, PA.

Eden Williamson had 12 points for Trinity. Jayden McBride and Lena Walz each had 16 points for Cathedral Prep. Addie Biel added 10 points.

Mars 49, York Suburban 40

Mars (18-8) jumped out to a double-digit lead in the first quarter and never looked back as they defeated York Suburban (18-10) 49-40 at York Suburban High School on Saturday afternoon. 

Vita Vargo had 13 points for Mars. Janay Rissmiller had 20 points for York Suburban.

Mars advances to the PIAA Second Round where they will match up with District 10 Champion Cathedral Prep on Wednesday at a site and time to be determined.

South Fayette 73, West York 33

It was the same old story for South Fayette (25-2) as once again they had a huge first quarter out-scoring West York (13-14) 27-10 in the first quarter, and coasted from there for a 73-33 victory on Saturday afternoon at South Fayette High School.

Maddie Webber led all scorers with 21 points for South Fayette. Erica Hall added 20 points and Ava Leroux netted 13 points. Faith Walker had 15 points for West York while Reagan Doll pitched in 10.

South Fayette advances to the PIAA Second Round where they will take on Mechanicsburg, the third-place team out of District 3, on Wednesday at a site and time to be determined.

Oakland Catholic 65, Manheim Central 39
