Peters Township wins Battle of the Indians Against North Hills
The Peters Township football team continues to prove themselves each week that they belong in the conversation among the elite teams in Class 5A.
In a non-section game on Friday night, the Indians stormed into North Hills and came away with a 35-7 win, handing the home Indians their first loss of the season.
Peters Township jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter on short touchdown runs by junior Ryan Magiske. Magiske found the end zone twice from two yards and five yards out. Peters scored once more before the half to go into break with a 21-0 lead. This time they took advantage of stellar special teams play when junior Aidan McCall returned a punt 73 yards for a touchdown.
With the game in hand, Peters Township scored two more touchdowns in the third quarter to go up 35-0. Magiske scored his third touchdown of the game, this time a 38-yard scamper. He finished the game with 104 rushing yards. Sophomore Logan Pfeuffer threw his only touchdown of the game to junior Josh Casilli to round out the scoring for the Indians. Senior Brian Bruzdewicz converted on all five extra point attempts.
North Hills got on the board in the fourth quarter with a touchdown run by senior Keygen Bryant.
