Penn-Trafford Stuns Penn Hills in Overtime
The Penn-Trafford girls basketball team handed Penn Hills its first section loss of the season with a 42-38 win in overtime.
Penn Hills had all the momentum heading into overtime after senior Adia Brisker made a shot at the buzzer to force overtime.
The would be the last field goal the Indians would make as the Warriors outscored them 5-1 in the extra quarter.
Leading the way for Penn-Trafford was senior Stephanie O’Donnell with 11 points. Brisker was the leading scorer for Penn Hills with nine.
With the win, Penn-Trafford improves to 7-7 overall and 4-4 in the section. The Warriors will travel to Albert Gallatin for a section game on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
The loss drops Penn Hills to 11-4 overall and a tie for first place in the section at 7-1. The Indians had their six game win streak snapped. They will host Laurel Highlands in a section game on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
