North Hills’ Melvin Blanks Commits to Gannon University
North Hills’ Melvin Blanks gave himself the best birthday present today when he announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic career at Gannon University.
Blanks was one of the top running backs in the WPIAL last year and the top rusher in Class 5A with 1,409 yards. He also had 17 touchdowns. The senior amassed for 2,232 all-purpose yards.
He also recorded two interceptions as a cornerback for the Indians.
Blanks was a Class 5A Allegheny Nine Conference first-team runningback for the Big 56 Conference.
Gannon is a Division II program that competes in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West Division. The Golden Knights finished 5-6 last year and 3-4 in the conference.
