Mars’ Robby Carmody Named Gatorade Pennsylvania Player Of The Year
Thursday, March 8, 2018 is a day that Mars seniorĀ Robby Carmody will never forget.
Carmody was named the Gatorade Pennsylvania Boys Basketball Player of the Year, as well as receiving his first-team all-section plaque at the Big 56 Conference banquet. All of this came less than a week after Carmody led the Planets to their first WPIAL championship in school history.
Besides his accomplishments on the court, Carmody also excelled in the classroom with a 4.0 GPA.
On the court, the Notre Dame commit, is averaging 32.1 points per game, which led the WPIAL. Carmody averaged 14. 2 rebounds per game, 4.6 assists, 4 steals and 1.8 blocks per game.
Carmody will be back in action on Friday when Mars takes on section rival Hampton in the PIAA First Round. The game is at Fox Chapel at 8 p.m.
