Mars’ Andrew Recchia Records 1,000th point
In the final regular season game for the Mars boys basketball team, senior Andrew Recchia had more to cheer about than his team ending the regular season on a 16-game win streak.
Not needing many points, Recchia eclipsed the 1,000 point plateau the Planets’ 68-49 win at Hampton on Friday night.
With the win Mars finishes the regular season at 21-1 overall and 14-0 in the section. They are one of two teams in line to be the top-seed in the Class 5A playoff that will be announced on Tuesday night.
