Latrobe Girls Basketball outlasts Penn Hills In OT
It took an extra period, but the Latrobe girls’ basketball team maintained their undefeated record in Section 2-6A with a 54-48 overtime win at home against Penn Hills on Monday Night.
Free throws were key in the Wildcats victory, as they connected on 13 from the line in the fourth quarter and overtime.
Down by three, Penn Hills got a 3-pointer from Ariana Dunson to tie the game and send it into overtime.
Senior and American University recruit Laura Graytok took over for Latrobe, finishing with 26 points, including the go-ahead free throw in overtime.
Penn Hills was led by junior Adia Brisker with 22 points.
The win improves Latrobe to 10-2 and 5-0. They will look for their fifth straight win on Thursday when they host Butler in a non-section game at 7:30 p.m. Penn Hills drops to 8-6 and 2-3 and will be back in action on Friday when they host West Mifflin at 6 p.m. in a non-section game.
