Late 3-pointer Solidifies Second Place In Section For Butler

Down by two, Butler hit a 3-pointer with eight seconds left in the game to come away with a 36-35 win at Seneca Valley in the Section 1-6A finale. The win gave the Golden Tornado sole possession of second place over the Raiders, who will finish in third place in the section.

Seneca Valley had an opportunity for the win, but missed its three point attempt at the buzzer.

Seneca Valley led 16-13 at halftime, but Butler outscored the Raiders 15-10 in the third quarter to take a 28-26 lead entering the fourth quarter.

The win also gave the Golden Tornado a season sweep of the Raiders. They also beat them 47-37 back on Jan. 15.

Seniors Alyssa Eyth and Jenna Kunst led Butler with 12 points apiece. Junior McKenna Gross had a game-high 13 points for Seneca Valley.

Butler improves to 11-8 overall and 6-4 in the section. The Golden Tornado will play a non-section game against St. Joseph on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Seneca Valley drops to 11-9 overall and 5-5 in the section. The Raiders will travel to Central Valley for a non-section game on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
