Kiski Area Clinches Playoff Spot With Win at Mars
For the second year in a row, the Kiski Area football team clinched a playoff berth in the Class 5A North Conference.
In their best defensive effort, the Cavaliers held Mars to a single touchdown in the 10-7 victory.
Both defenses stood tall throughout the first half, entering halftime with the same score that they started the game with.
Kiski (4-5, 3-3) finally cracked the board first in the third quarter on a 26-yard field goal by sophomore Cody Dykes.
The Fightin Planets (5-4, 3-3) took their first and only lead of the game in the fourth quarter on a 60-yard touchdown pass from Quinn Fuller to Nick Spotti.
The Cavalier had the answer when junior Kenny Blake scored the game-winning touchdown from four yards out.
Kiski Area will finish out the regular season on Senior Night next week when they host Armstrong at 7 p.m.
