Franklin Regional Boys Basketball Makes Statement With Win At Gateway
Franklin Regional pulled away in the second and third quarters to come away with a convincing 54-36 win at Gateway in Section 3-5A play on Monday night.
The Panthers only led 10-9 after the first quarter, but outscored the Gators 15-5 in the second quarter to take a 25-14 lead into halftime. Their run didn’t stop their, increasing their lead to 18 points in the third quarter.
Franklin Regional had one player in double figures with senior Mike Bartolacci finishing with 12 points. Senior John Paul Kromka had a game-high 16 points for Gateway.
The Panthers own sole possession of first place in the section with a 2-0 record and 8-2 overall. They will go for their third straight win tonight when they host Kiski Area in a section game at 7:30 p.m.
The Gators drop to 4-6 and 1-1 and will attempt to snap their two-game losing streak tonight when they travel to Armstrong at 7:30 p.m.
