6A SECTION 1

Butler (10-7, 4-2) at Norwin (15-3, 5-1) – 7:30 pm

Norwin broke a 2-game losing streak defeating Bethel Park on Saturday 68-45. They are looking to keep pace with North Allegheny for the top spot as they are both tied for first place. Butler comes in riding a 4-game winning streak. They are currently in third place, 2 games up on Pine-Richland. Norwin won the first meeting on January 5, 56-32.

Hempfield (8-9, 2-4) at Seneca Valley (4-13, 0-6) – 7:30 pm

Hempfield ended a 5-game losing streak beating Pine-Richland 48-47 on Thursday. Hempfield and Pine-Richland currently sit tied for fourth and if results hold, would both make the playoffs because they tied the season series. Seneca Valley has lost their last 2 games. They are currently 2 games back of Pine-Richland and Hempfield for the final playoff spot. Hempfield won the first matchup 52-33 on January 5.

North Allegheny (11-4, 5-1) at Pine-Richland (8-8, 2-4) – 7:30 pm

North Allegheny is riding a 3-game win streak into this one. They are currently tied with Norwin for the section lead. If both teams tie, they will share the section title since they split the season series. Pine-Richland has won 2 of the last 3 games. They are currently tied with Hempfield for the final playoff spot in the section. North Allegheny won the first meeting 59-48 on January 6.

6A SECTION 2

Baldwin (8-10, 4-5) at Chartiers Valley (9-6, 5-3) – 7:30 pm

Baldwin comes into the game with a 2-game winning streak, most recently getting a big win against Mt. Lebanon 46-42 on Friday. Baldwin currently is a 0.5 game up on Peters Township for the final playoff spot in the section. Chartiers Valley has also won their last 2 games. They are currently in third place sitting 1.5 games up on Baldwin behind them. Chartiers Valley won the first game at Baldwin, 51-38 on January 6.

Peters Township (9-8, 3-5) at Bethel Park (5-10, 2-5) – 7:30 pm

Peters Township has fallen in 7 of their last 8 games coming into this one, including 2 straight. Bethel Park has dropped their last 4 games. Both teams are on the outside of the playoff bubble with Peters being a half game back of Baldwin for the final spot and Bethel Park being a full game behind. Peters Township won the first matchup on December 15, 79-71.

Upper St. Clair (14-2, 7-0) at Mt. Lebanon (13-5, 7-2) – 7:30 pm

The top 2 teams in Section 2-6A square off tonight with Upper St. Clair coming in on an 8-game win streak. Their last loss came to Argyle (TX) on December 22. Mt. Lebanon comes in fresh off of getting their 6-game win streak snapped at Baldwin on Friday. An Upper St. Clair win would put them in a very good spot when it comes to the section championship as they won the first matchup between these two teams 57-39 on January 5.

5A SECTION 1

Gateway (4-12, 0-9) at Indiana (12-6, 8-0) – 7:30 pm

Gateway comes into today on a 7-game losing streak. They currently sit at the bottom of Section 1-5A. Indiana is coming off of a 39-36 loss to Trinity at the Shootout at Seton Hill University. They are looking to keep their 2-game lead over Woodland Hills in the section intact. Woodland Hills will play Penn Hills tomorrow night. Indiana won the first game in this matchup 39-30.

5A SECTION 2

Armstrong (15-3, 6-3) at Mars (13-3, 7-1) – 7:30 pm

Armstrong has won 3 in a row. They currently sit tied for third place in Section 2-5A with Fox Chapel and are a half game back of second-place Hampton. Mars is coming off a 50-47 victory over Fox Chapel on Friday. They currently sit at the top of the section with a 1-game lead over Hampton. Mars took the first matchup in this series 55-36 on January 5.

Fox Chapel (12-6, 6-3) at Hampton (12-5, 6-2) – 7:30 pm

Fox Chapel is coming off of a hard fought 50-47 loss at home against first-place Mars. They had won 5 in a row before that. Fox Chapel currently sits tied for third with a 1.5 game lead over Shaler for the final playoff spot. Hampton comes in on a 4-game win streak and have won 7 of the last 8, including a 58-53 win over Mars last Monday. Hampton now sits a game behind Mars for the section lead. Hampton won the first matchup on the road, 57-54 on January 6.

Shaler (13-5, 4-4) at New Castle (5-13, 0-9) – 7:30 pm

Shaler comes into tonight’s game winners of 3 straight. They currently sit 1.5 games out of a playoff spot behind Armstrong and Fox Chapel. New Castle has lost 5 in a row. They currently sit at the bottom of the section. Shaler won the first matchup at home on January 6, 68-26.

5A SECTION 3

Connellsville (3-15, 0-9) at Latrobe (11-7, 3-5) – 7:30 pm

Connellsville comes into tonight on a 5-game losing streak. They sit at the bottom of Section 3-5A. Latrobe enters the night losing 3 of their last 4 games. Latrobe currently sits a half game up on Albert Gallatin for the final playoff spot in the section. Latrobe won the preceding matchup 81-28 on January 5.

Thomas Jefferson (8-9, 2-6) at Oakland Catholic (16-2, 9-0) – 7:30 pm

Thomas Jefferson has lost their last 2 games. They come into tonight sitting in 6th place but only one game back of the final playoff spot. Oakland Catholic comes into the game on a 14-game win streak. Their last loss came on December 10 against St. John’s College (DC) 63-41. Oakland Catholic currently sits at the top of Section 3-5A with a 1.5 game lead over McKeesport. Oakland Catholic won the first game of the series 57-23 on January 6.

5A SECTION 4

Lincoln Park (15-2, 4-2) at South Fayette (16-2, 6-0) – 7:30 pm

Lincoln Park has won 6 of the last 7 games. They come into tonight sitting in third place in the section with a 2-game lead of fourth place Montour. South Fayette has won 9 straight with their last loss coming on December 28 to St. Thomas Aquinas (NJ) 50-49. They currently sit at the top of Section 4-5A with a game lead over Trinity. South Fayette defeated Lincoln Park 53-39 on January 5.

Montour (5-11, 2-4) at West Allegheny (5-11, 1-5) – 7:30 pm

Montour comes into tonight losing their last 2 games. West Allegheny enters tonight having lost 4 of their last 5 games. This is a massive game when it comes to playoff implications as Montour currently holds the final spot in the section and they have a 1-game lead over West Allegheny. Montour won the first matchup 60-28 on January 5. A Montour win would give them a 2-game lead and the season sweep. A West Allegheny win would put them into a tie for the fourth and final playoff spot.

Moon (7-10, 0-6) at Trinity (11-5, 5-1) – 7:30 pm

Moon comes into tonight winners of 3 of their last 5 games. They currently sit at the bottom of the section. Trinity enters the game on a 4-game winning streak. They currently sit a game back of South Fayette for the top spot in the section. Trinity won on January 5, 49-27.
