Chartiers Valley breaks WPIAL record winning 57th consecutive game
Chartiers Valley won their 57th consecutive game Wednesday night, setting the new WPIAL record for consecutive wins previously held by North Catholic girls, who won 56 consecutive games. The Lady Colts defeated Hollidaysburg, 55-38, at Greensburg Salem High School.
Hollidaysburg came out with a ton of energy and scored the first seven points of the game. Chartiers Valley was able to bounce back but still trailed 15-11 after one. The Lady Colts took control in the second quarter outscoring Hollidaysburg by 10 and leading 30-24 at the half. The second half was all Chartiers Valley and they were able to coast to a 55-38 win.
Aislin Malcolm led Chartiers Valley with 19 points. Megan McConnell had 16 points and Perri Page added 12 points.
Marin Miller led all scorers with 22 points for Hollidaysburg.
Chartiers Valley improves to 27-0 overall and won their 57th consecutive game. Hollidaysburg season ends at 18-8 overall. Up next for the Lady Colts will be Thomas Jefferson in the PIAA Quarterfinals. This will be the fourth matchup between these two teams this year. Chartiers Valley won both regular season games and in the WPIAL Semifinals.
