Central Catholic’s Khalil Weathers commits to University of Pennsylvania
Central Catholic senior Khalil Weathers announced via Twitter on Sunday that he will continue his academic and football career at University of Pennsylvania.
The Quakers compete in the Ivy League and finished the year 6-4.
Weathers has played on a championship caliber Vikings team who advanced to the WPIAL championship every year he played there, including winning the title his junior season. The Vikings lost in the Class 6A WPIAL championship this year.
Weathers was the Vikings’ top rusher this season with 510 yards on 81 carries (6.3 yards per carry). He was second on the team in receiving and third in scoring with eight touchdowns.
Most of his damage came on the defensive side of the ball at defensive back. Weathers was selected to the Northern Seven Conference first-team at that position. Weathers and the Vikings held opponents to 18.5 points per game.
