Canon-McMillan Girls’ Soccer Wins State Crown
It was a sweet finish for the Canon-McMillan girls’ soccer team in Hershey on Saturday as the Big Macs claimed a 1-0 overtime win over Central Bucks South in the PIAA Championship. Addie Roman netted the game-winning goal with 15:35 gone in overtime to lift the Big Macs to the victory. Jaiden Williams assisted on the goal. Goalie Megan Virgin stopped all six shots she faced to help the Big Macs capture their first state title.
Canon-McMillan, who fell in the WPIAL title game to Norwin, avenged that loss against Norwin in the PIAA quarterfinals en route to the PIAA championship game. The Big Macs end their championship season with a 22-1-1 record.
