Butler Girls Basketball Defeats Seneca Valley in Section 1-6A Showdown
As the first round of the section season comes to a close, the Butler girls’ basketball team picked up a momentum swing win at home against Seneca Valley on Monday.
Down by three at halftime, the Golden Tornado came out of the locker in the second half strong to come away with a 47-37 win.
Entering the game, Butler only had a one game lead on Seneca Valley for second place in Section 1-6A.
Senior Jenna Kunst was the lone player for Butler to score in double figures, finishing with 13 points. Seneca Valley junior Gretchen Koken had a game-high 16 points for the Raiders.
Butler improves to 7-5 and 3-2, while Seneca Valley drops to 6-6 and 2-3. The Golden Tornado will travel to Latrobe next on Thursday for a non-section game at 7:30 p.m. The Raiders will look to snap their three-game losing streak on Saturday when they host Penn-Trafford at 2:30 p.m. in a non-section game.
