Butler Boys Soccer Moves Into Sole Possession of Second Place
Earlier in the season, the Butler and Pine-Richland boys soccer teams played to a 1-1 draw. With that in the back of their minds, both team knew Thursday’s game would go a long way in determining a lot as we inch closer to the playoff.
The Golden Tornado made sure they put themselves in the best position, coming away with a 1-0 win at home.
With two minutes remaining in regulation, junior Donovan Uber found the back of the net, not giving the Rams much time to find the equalizer. Junior Kevin Pracht assisted on the goal and sophomore Austin Goepfert registered the shutout.
With the win, Butler improves to 7-2-1 overall and in Section 1-4A. They will travel to North Allegheny for a pivotal section game on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
Pine-Richland drops into fourth place with a 7-3-2 overall record and 6-2-2 section mark. The Rams will travel to Shaler on Tuesday for a section match at 7:30 p.m.
