North Hills used a 18-4 run to jump out in front and never looked back, beating Central Catholic 62-46 in a Section 1-6A game Friday night.

The first quarter was all North Hills as they brought the energy early, especially on the defensive end, which led to easy transition baskets. Central Catholic finally started to find their offensive rhythm in the second quarter, but was still struggling on the defensive end and at the half, North Hills led 36-18.

In the third quarter, Central Catholic started to match North Hills’ defensive intensity, neither team allowing many open looks. Central Catholic outscored North Hills in the quarter 9-6, but still trailed 42-27. In the fourth quarter, it looked like Central Catholic was going to make a run when they cut the lead to twelve with four minutes to go but a missed open three and back-to-back turnovers led to another North Hills run, one Central Catholic couldn’t recover from, and the Indians of North Hills won 62-46.

Logan Marshalek was the PlayerPager Player of the Game with 18 points and numerous big defensive plays in the game. Devin Burgess pitched in 19 points and Alex Smith added 13.

Dante DePante was the lone scorer in double figure for Central Catholic with 10 points off the bench.
