Bethel Park’s rally comes up short against USC
By Brianna Shannon
Victory was in reach, but the Bethel Park girls volleyball team could not grasp it against Upper St. Clair on Thursday, Sept. 14, as the Black Hawks fell 3-2 in five sets.
“Even though we lost, we fought for every point,” junior outside hitter Brenna Manko said. “That’s something I’m really proud of. It’s something we all are proud of.”
The Panthers were up 2-0, but the Black Hawks were able to fight back and take it to five. The set scores were 16-25, 20-25, 25-22, 25-16, and 15-17.
Manko led Bethel Park with 21 kills. Middle hitter Erin Sullivan also racked up double digit kills with 10.
The loss now drops the Black Hawks to 2-2 overall and 1-2 in Section 2-AAAA.
