The Bethel Park girls’ volleyball team fell 3-0 to Peters Township on Tuesday, bringing its record to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in Class 4A Section 2.
“We are viewing our first loss of the season as a learning opportunity,” co-captain Stephanie Kazalas said. “We still have things to work on that will move us towards our end goal. All I can say is that we are looking forward to our rematch against Peters even more now.”
Even though the Black Hawks didn’t pick up the win, they still put up a fight with set scores of 22-25, 14-25, and 21-25. Some rotation changes were made going into the third, but it was not enough to shake the Indians. Despite the outcome of the game, several players still put up impressive numbers. Brenna Manko led the team in kills again with eight, followed by both middle hitters Jenna Kwiatkoski and Erin Sullivan with six a piece. Senior libero Veronica Johns, had a team-high four aces.
Bethel Park will seek revenge on the Indians when they travel to Peters Township on Oct. 10. The Black Hawks next opponent will be Upper St. Clair at home tonight.
