Bethel Park loses close match to top-ranked Norwin

The Bethel Park varsity girls’ soccer team lost a hard-fought, 2-0, decision to the Norwin Knights on September. 6.
The Knights came into the match ranked No. 1 in the nation according to topdrawersoccer.com.
The Black Hawks contained the Knights for the first 15 minutes of the game, but the high-powered Knights offense broke through with the eventual game-winning goal in the 16th minute.
In the 32nd minute, Bethel Park tried for the equalizer from Tianna Torles in the top corner, but was stopped by Norwin’s goalkeeper, Sam Wexell a verbal commit to Ohio University.
The Knights tallied their second goal within the first minute of the second half.
The Hawks looked to get their first win of the season against mt. Lebanon on Monday, but fell 3-0 on the road to the Blue Devils.
Bethel Park bounced back from its tough losses with a 1-1 tie at home against Upper St. Clair.
