BASEBALL

6A SECTION 1

Butler 5, Pine-Richland 4 – 9 innings

Liam McElroy hit a walk-off sac fly in the bottom of the ninth inning to give Butler (3-3, 1-1) the 5-4 win over Pine-Richland (6-2, 1-1) on Tuesday afternoon. 

Seneca Valley 14, Allderdice 0

Owen Yarussi had a great outing on the mound striking out 13 batters and TJ Border hit a home run and had four RBIs as Seneca Valley (6-0, 2-0) rolled Allderdice (1-2, 0-2) 14-0 in section play on Tuesday.

6A SECTION 2

Baldwin 4, Norwin 3

Adam Ledbetter homered and Dylan Lacher and Christian Forgacs each had two hits as Baldwin (3-4, 1-1) split the series with Norwin (1-5, 1-1) with a 4-3 victory on Tuesday afternoon. 

Canon-McMillan 5, Mt. Lebanon 2

Nick Hilbert had the go ahead RBI in the top of the seventh inning and Andrew Kocan homered as Canon-McMillan (4-1, 2-0) picked up another win in the series against Mt. Lebanon (0-6, 0-2) with a 5-2 win on Tuesday.

Hempfield 2, Central Catholic 0

Parker Donsen threw six shutout innings and Connor Burkey picked up the save as Hempfield (3-3, 1-1) shut out Central Catholic (2-2, 1-1) 2-0 to even up the series going into the rubber match on Thursday. Caden Biondi drove in two runs for Hempfield.

5A SECTION 1

Fox Chapel 8, Penn Hills 0

Jeremy Haigh drove in three runs and Dom Cassol had two RBIs as Fox Chapel (3-4, 3-1) completed the sweep of Penn Hills (0-4, 0-4) with an 8-0 victory on Tuesday afternoon.

Armstrong 3, Penn-Trafford 1

Dustin Coleman was the winning pitcher as Armstrong (4-2, 2-2) bounced back to split the series with Penn-Trafford (4-2, 2-2) 3-1 on Tuesday afternoon.

Franklin Regional 13, Gateway 3

5A SECTION 2

South Fayette 7, Peters Township 4

Tyler Skeen was 2-for-4 with a home run, drove in three runs, and was the winning pitcher as South Fayette (3-1, 1-1) came back from down 4-0 to defeat Peters Township (3-3, 1-1) 7-4 on Tuesday night. Chase Krewson and Christian Brandi each had two hits for South Fayette. Jackson Natili had two hits and two RBIs for Peters Township.

Bethel Park 3, Upper St. Clair 2

5A SECTION 3

North Hills 14, New Castle 3

North Hills (6-1, 2-0) trailed 3-2 heading into the seventh inning and put up a 12-spot in the top of the seventh to sweep New Castle (0-4, 0-2) 14-3, in section play on Tuesday. Tristan Weimann and Jake Pollaro each had three RBIs. Walt Vitovich had four hits while Liam Burns had three hits, all doubles. Anthony Miller had a home run for New Castle.

Shaler 23, Moon 6

Miguel Hugas homered and drove in four runs, Chase Beran had four RBIs and Derek Leas homered as Shaler (6-1, 2-0) brought the bats out slugging Moon (2-3, 0-2) 23-6 in a section contest on Tuesday. Aiden Schnurer homered for Moon. 

Mars 9, West Allegheny 3

Ben Astbury and Chase Winstead each drove in three runs while Jacob Maple had two RBIs as Mars (5-2, 2-0) finished off the sweep of West Allegheny (3-2, 0-2) with a 9-3 section win on Tuesday afternoon.

SOFTBALL

6A SECTION 1

North Allegheny 9, Butler 5

Anne Melle homered and had three RBIs while Sadie Kelly had two RBIs and North Allegheny (7-1, 4-0) won their fifth straight game taking down Butler (1-4, 1-3) 9-5 in section play on Tuesday. Kelsey Ogin homered for Butler.

Seneca Valley 4, Norwin 0

Lexi Hames struck out 16 hitters and got the win in the circle as Seneca Valley (3-0, 3-0) shut out Norwin (4-2, 2-1) in section play on Tuesday. Seneca Valley is yet to give up a run this season.

NON-SECTION

Canon-McMillan 8, Bethel Park 2

Kiersten Williams homered twice and drove in five runs as Canon-McMillan (1-3) picked up their first win of the season defeating Bethel Park (1-5) 8-2 in non-section play. Lupe McElvenny had two hits for Bethel Park.
