BASEBALL
6A SECTION 1
North Allegheny 3, Butler 2
David Posey got the win on the mound, striking out 12 batters and Andrew Hart got the save as North Allegheny (5-1, 2-0) took game two of the section series against Butler (4-5, 2-3) on Wednesday night. Anthony Varlotta had two hits for North Allegheny.
5A SECTION 1
Fox Chapel 13, Gateway 3
Tory Susnak went 4-for-4 and drove in five runs as Fox Chapel (5-4, 5-1) kept their dominance in section play with a 13-3 win to complete the sweep over Gateway (4-4, 1-3) on Wednesday afternoon. Nolan Boehm had two RBIs for Gateway.
Armstrong 16, Penn Hills 1
Caden Rupert had two hits and four RBIs, Mason Schrecengost drove in three runs and Brayden Wright homered and drove in three runs as Armstrong (6-2, 4-2) rolled to a 16-1 section sweep over Penn Hills (0-6, 0-6).
Plum 3, Penn-Trafford 2
Frank Macioce drove in two runs and Caden Norcutt collected two hits as Plum (4-6, 2-2) saved a split in the section series with Penn-Trafford (4-6, 2-2) on Wednesday afternoon.
5A SECTION 2
Bethel Park 5, South Fayette 3
Coby Goelz had two hits and drove in two runs to help Bethel Park (6-3, 4-0) pick up a big time sweep in Section 2-5A action against South Fayette (7-3, 1-3) on Wednesday afternoon.
Peters Township 7, Trinity 5
Steven Laurence hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh to take a game from Trinity (3-2, 2-2) as Peters Township (4-4, 2-2) split the section series with a 7-5 victory on Wednesday. Cole Carl was 3-for-3 for Trinity.
Connellsville 5, Upper St. Clair 4
5A SECTION 3
North Hills 3, Mars 0
CJ Leuch struck out nine over six and a third and Dylan Barnes homered as North Hills (8-1, 4-0) stayed unbeaten in section play with a 3-0 win over Mars (5-4, 2-2) in section action on Wednesday afternoon. Tristan Weimann had two RBIs for North Hills.
Shaler 11, New Castle 0
Colby Weber and Derek Leas combined for the shutout and Miguel Hugas had three RBIs as Shaler (9-1, 4-0) completed the series sweep of New Castle (0-6, 0-4) with an 11-0 victory. Logan Bauer had two hits for Shaler.
Moon 6, West Allegheny 1
NON-SECTION
Seneca Valley 2, Franklin Regional 0
Zach Tkatch got the win on the hill and Creed Erdos had both RBIs as Seneca Valley (8-0) stayed undefeated with a 2-0 non-section win over Franklin Regional (7-2) on Wednesday afternoon. Chase Lemke was 2-for-3 for Franklin Regional.

6A SECTION 1
Canon-McMillan 5, Baldwin 4
Morgan Doyle and Samantha Booher each collected two hits as Canon-McMillan (3-4, 2-3) picked up a section victory over Baldwin (0-10, 0-7) on Wednesday afternoon.
Mt. Lebanon 15, Pine-Richland 13
Olivia Buckiso went 4-for-4 and drove in four runs while Kate Borza and Deirdre Flaherty each homered and Mt. Lebanon (2-4, 2-3) slugged their way to a 15-13 win over Pine-Richland (2-7, 2-4) on Wednesday afternoon. Mackenzie Gillis homered twice for Pine-Richland.
Norwin 10, North Allegheny 7
Josey Michalski had three hits, including a homer, and drove in five runs as Norwin (7-2, 5-1) trailed North Allegheny (8-3, 5-2) 7-0 going into the fifth inning and scored 10 unanswered runs to comeback and win the game 10-7. Caitlin Logan had a grand slam for North Allegheny while Meghan McDonough collected three hits.

Fox Chapel 27, Oakland Catholic 4
Hunter Taylor had four RBIs while Mia Dunleavy and Adina Rosen each had three and Fox Chapel (4-3, 2-1) rolled to a 27-4 section win over Oakland Catholic (0-3, 0-3) in Section 1-5A play on Wednesday.
North Hills 15, Penn Hills 0
Addyson Wrigley drove in three runs while Alexa Edmonds had two RBIs and North Hills (7-1, 2-1) bounced back from their previous loss to defeat Penn Hills (4-2, 1-2) in section action on Wednesday.
Shaler 10, Plum 6
Bethany Rodman went 2-for-3 and got the win in the circle as Shaler (8-0, 3-0) kept their perfect record intact with a 10-6 section win over Plum (4-3, 1-2) on Wednesday afternoon. Chrissy Sciullo and Alyssa Scaffold each drove in three runs for Shaler. Danielle Pici hit a home run and had three RBIs for Plum.
5A SECTION 2
Armstrong 26, Gateway 0
Jessica Pugh homered and had five RBIs, Isabella Atherton had four RBIs and Emma Paul drove in three runs as Armstrong (7-1, 3-0) shut out Gateway (1-6, 0-3).
Latrobe 8, Franklin Regional 3
Hayden Kraynick hit two home runs and had five RBIs and Pip Zufall homered as Latrobe (7-1, 2-1) slugged their way to an 8-3 section win on Wednesday over Franklin Regional (4-3, 2-1). Alexa Patberg had two RBIs for Franklin Regional.
Penn-Trafford 10, Kiski Area 8
Kylie Anthony was 3-for-4 and Cameron Ponko had two hits, including a home run as Penn-Trafford (2-6, 1-2) got past Kiski Area (4-2, 1-2) in section play on Wednesday afternoon.
5A SECTION 3
Mars 9, New Castle 3
Mars (4-3, 2-1) picked up another Section 3-5A victory taking down New Castle (2-6, 0-3) 9-3 on Wednesday afternoon. Olivia Hood and Keara Mangieri each homered for New Castle.
South Fayette 10, Moon 4
Julia Munkittrick drove in three runs as South Fayette (5-4, 2-1) got back above .500 with a 10-4 win over Moon (1-5, 0-3) in Section 3-5A play on Wednesday.
5A SECTION 4
Peters Township 18, Bethel Park 15
Sami Bewick was 4-for-5 with two home runs and drove in eight runs as Peters Township (3-5, 1-2) picked up their first section win in a slugfest over Bethel Park (1-6, 0-3) 18-15. Elena Tylka homered for Peters Township. Lupe McElvenny hit a grand slam for Bethel Park.
Thomas Jefferson 3, Connellsville 0
Kendall Pielin struck out 11 in the circle as Thomas Jefferson (8-1, 3-0) shut out Connellsville (1-5, 1-2) on Wednesday afternoon in section play. Tagan Basinger went 3-for-3 for Connellsville.
Trinity 2, Upper St. Clair 0
Taylor Dunn threw a complete-game shutout as Trinity (7-1, 3-0) stayed unbeaten in section play with a 2-0 win over Upper St. Clair (3-3, 1-2) in Section 4-5A action on Wednesday.
