BASEBALL

6A SECTION 1

Pine-Richland 12, Allderdice 0

Keegan Diehl allowed one-hit over six innings, with nine strikeouts as Pine-Richland (7-3, 2-2) rolled in their opening game of their section series against Allderdice (1-4, 0-4) on Monday afternoon. Jacob McGuire had three RBIs for Pine-Richland.

Canon-McMillan 16, Norwin 13

Andrew Kocan had two hits and drove in four runs as Canon-McMillan (6-1, 4-0) won a slugfest on Monday afternoon over Norwin (2-6, 2-2) in the opening game of their section series. Mason Fixx had two hits and three RBIs for Canon-McMillan. Justin Weaver had three hits and drove in three runs for Norwin. Keegan Carr had two hits and three RBIs while Chris Slatt had two hits and drove in two runs for the Knights.

Central Catholic 2, Mt. Lebanon 1 – 10 innings

Cade Clister hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the 10th inning as Central Catholic (3-3, 2-2) won a 10-inning thriller over Mt. Lebanon (0-8, 0-4) 2-1 on Monday afternoon in section play. Clister also had a sacrifice fly in the first inning to score Central’s first run. Gavin Kelly collected four hits for Central Catholic. Ryan Tater earned the win.

SOFTBALL

6A SECTION 1

Norwin 9, Baldwin 2

Alyssa McCormick threw a complete game, striking out 10 batters as Norwin (6-2, 4-1) kept rolling in section play with a 9-2 win over Baldwin (0-8, 0-5) on Monday afternoon. Emma Novotnak was a home run away from the cycle and had four RBIs. 

5A SECTION 3

West Allegheny 15, Moon 4

Emily Nolan was 4-for-4 and drove in four runs as West Allegheny (9-0, 2-0) stayed perfect with a 15-4 win over Moon on Monday afternoon in section play. Adriana Vicari-Baker, Aubrey Police and Ava Henke all had three hits for West Allegheny. Alyssa Favarella was 3-for-3 and drove in three runs for Moon.

NON-SECTION

New Castle 3, Blackhawk 2

Morgan Piatt threw a complete game in the circle with seven strikeouts as New Castle (2-6) picked up their second win of the season defeating Blackhawk (1-5) on Monday. Miley Anderson drove in two runs for New Castle.

Chartiers Valley 7, Upper St. Clair 0

Zoe Mangan and Taylor Walsh combined for a shutout as Chartiers Valley (6-1) picked up a non-section victory over Upper St. Clair (3-2) on Monday night. Brooklyn Kemp had three hits for Upper St. Clair.

Hampton 4, Mars 3
Gianna Nelson and Cassidy Vidic each had two RBIs as Hampton (6-1) picked up a non-section win over Mars (3-3) on Monday afternoon. Steph Esswein had four hits for Mars.
