BASEBALL

6A SECTION 1

North Allegheny 6, Allderdice 1

JD Costanzo took a no-hitter into the seventh inning and Spencer Barnett homered as North Allegheny (6-2, 3-1) picked up the series opening win over Allderdice (1-7, 0-7) on Tuesday afternoon. 

6A SECTION 2

Baldwin 2, Central Catholic 1

Baldwin (4-8, 2-5) scored the winning run on an error to pick up the 2-1 win over Central Catholic (3-6, 2-5). 

5A SECTION 1

Armstrong 10, Gateway 5

Brayden Wright was 2-for-2 and drove in three runs while Haden Brink was the winning pitcher as Armstrong (9-3, 6-2) took down Gateway (4-7, 1-5) in Section 1-5A play on Tuesday. Noah Colberg had two RBIs for Gateway.

5A SECTION 2

Bethel Park 5, Peters Township 4 – 8 innings

Cody Goelz hit into a fielder’s choice to score a run in the eighth inning as Bethel Park (7-3, 5-0) stayed unbeaten in section play with a 5-4 extra inning win over Peters Township (5-5, 2-3). Joseph Bedillion had two RBIs for Peters Township.

South Fayette 7, Connellsville 0

Michael DiMartini was 4-for-5 with a home run and drove in two runs while Tyler Pitzer had two RBIs and got the win on the mound as South Fayette (10-3, 3-3) completed the sweep of Connellsville (4-7, 2-4) in Section 2-5A play on Tuesday.

Trinity 5, Upper St. Clair 4

5A SECTION 3

North Hills 5, Moon 0

Tristan Weimann had two RBIs and C.J. Leuch and Scott Ranallo combined for the shutout as North Hills (9-1, 5-0) stayed unbeaten in section play with a 5-0 win over Moon (4-5, 1-4) on Tuesday afternoon. Nate Lasher had two hits for Moon.

Shaler 6, West Allegheny 1

Miguel Hugas struck out 10 batters as Shaler (10-1, 5-0) stayed unbeaten in section play with a 6-1 section win over West Allegheny (6-5, 1-4).

New Castle 1, Mars 0

SOFTBALL

6A SECTION 1

Canon-McMillan 20, Pine-Richland 15

Kirsten Williams hit a grand slam, Olivia Ford homered and had three RBIs and Harley Tournay went 3-for-3 and drove in four runs as Canon-McMillan (4-5, 3-4) outslugged Pine-Richland (2-9, 2-6) 20-15 in section play on Tuesday. Abbey Laurent, Mackenzie Gilli and Iliana Aggelou all homered for Pine-Richland.

5A SECTION 1

Shaler 15, Penn Hills 5

Bethany Rodman hit two home runs, had five RBIs and was the winning pitcher in the circle as Shaler (10-0, 4-0) stayed unbeaten overall with a 15-5 win over Penn Hills (4-4, 1-4) on Tuesday afternoon. Eloise Facher had two hits for Shaler.

5A SECTION 4

Trinity 11, Bethel Park 1

Ryleigh Hoy homered and had two RBIs as Trinity (9-1, 5-0) rolled Bethel Park (2-8, 1-4) with an 11-1 victory. Addison Agnew homered for Trinity as well.

NON-SECTION

Albert Gallatin 5, Connellsville 2

Ashley Metts homered and drove in two runs as Albert Gallatin (4-4) took down Connellsvile (1-7) 5-2 in non-section play. Ava McClean homered for Connellsville.

Armstrong 9, Deer Lakes 1

Jenna Clontz had two home runs and four RBIs and Emma Smerick and Emma Paul each homered as Armstrong (10-1) rolled to a 9-1 non-section victory over Deer Lakes (6-2). Maddie Kee homered for Deer Lakes.
