BASEBALL

5A SECTION 3

Franklin Regional (5-0, 1-0) at Penn Hills (0-1, 0-1) – 4 pm

Franklin Regional picked up the 5-3 win yesterday in the opening game of the season series. Brady Yarabinetz hit a home run and had three RBIs. Blake Bertucci struck out nine in the win. This is a make-up game from Monday.

NON-SECTION

Mt. Lebanon (0-3) at Seneca Valley (2-0) – 4 pm

Hampton (1-2) at North Hills (2-1) – 4 pm

Allderdice (0-0) at Keystone Oaks (0-1) – 4:30 pm

Central Valley (0-2) at West Allegheny (2-0) – 4:30 pm

SOFTBALL

6A SECTION 1

Norwin (3-1, 1-0) at Butler (0-3, 0-1) – 4 pm

Norwin has won three straight games after losing their opener. They won their section opener against Canon-McMillan, 15-5, on Monday. Butler has dropped their first three games of the season. They fell in their section opener, 6-5, against Pine-Richland. 

Mt. Lebanon (0-1, 0-0) at Hempfield (2-1, 0-1) – 4 pm – Westmoreland Sports Network

Mt. Lebanon dropped their lone game of the year to West Allegheny, 9-8, on March 22. This is Mt. Lebanon’s first section game. Hempfield won their first two games of the season before falling to North Allegheny, 1-0, in their section opener. The game was a 6-inning rain shortened game.

North Allegheny (4-1, 1-0) at Canon-McMillan (0-1, 0-1) – 4:15 pm

North Allegheny won their first two games, fell to Shaler, and then won their last two games, including a 1-0 section opening victory against Hempfield. Canon-McMillan fell in their only game of the year so far, a section game to Norwin, 15-5. 

Pine-Richland (1-3, 1-0) at Baldwin (0-4, 0-1) – 5 pm

Pine-Richland lost their first three games of the season but bounced back when section play began picking up a 6-5 win over Butler on Monday. Baldwin has dropped their first four games of the year. They fell to Seneca Valley, 8-0, in their opening section game on Monday.

NON-SECTION

Armstrong (2-1) at Freeport (2-0) – 4:15 pm – High Top Sports Network

Armstrong fell to Hempfield, 6-3, in their opening game but bounced back to defeat Indiana (8-1) and Knoch (11-1) in their last two contests. Freeport has looked good in their first two games as they beat Apollo-Ridge, 7-1, on March 21 and Karns City, 16-6, yesterday.
