Baldwin Softball Claims Fourth Straight Section Title
For the fourth straight season, the Baldwin softball team can call themselves section champions. The Highlanders accomplished that feat with a 4-3 Section 1-6A win at Canon-McMIllan on Tuesday, giving them the season sweep of the Big Macs.
Senior Taylor Dadig led the offense with a home run and three RBIs. Sophomore Cassie Carlson went 2 for 4 with a double for the HIghlanders.
The Big Macs got a couple of home runs from Lindsay Schmidt and Olivia Ulam.
The win was the eighth straight for Baldwin and improved its record to 9-2 overall and 9-1 in the section. They will return to action on Thursday when they host Peters Township in a section game at 4 p.m.
The loss drops Canon-McMIllan to 9-3 overall and 8-3 in the section. The Big Macs will return to action on Thursday in a non-section game vs. Belle Vernon at 4:15 p.m.
