Alumni Update – Latrobe’s Jake Biss

Posted on:

Jake Biss was Shippensburg University’s leading scorer in a 2-1 week that included conference wins over Mercyhurst University and East Stroudsburg University.

Biss averaged 17.3 points per game, 5.3 assists per game and shot 43 percent from the field (5 of 9), 56 percent from 3-point range and a perfect 7 of 7 from the free-throw line.

He posted double digits in points in all three games. In a six-point win over ESU that snapped ESU’s 19-game conference win streak, Biss had a breakthrough performance with a career-high 30 points. He entered Saturday with a previous career high of 18 points, yet he scored 19 points in the second half alone on Saturday to cap off his 30-point performance. He was 13 of 23 from the field, including 3 of 4 from 3-point range, and posted a game-high five assists. His work from the point guard was integral against ESU’s signature press.

In a victory over Mercyhurst, Biss scored 10 points and equaled a career high with eight assists – playing all 40 minutes. Against Shepherd University, Biss scored 12 points and had three rebounds, scoring half of his points at the free-throw line (6 of 6).

The Latrobe graduate was named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Athlete of the Week for his performance.
